Parasailing
One of the highlights for many South Padre tourists is parasailing. Some people may find the idea of flying over the water scary, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Parasailing is invigorating yet peaceful; thrilling yet calming.
While you should be aware of basic safety precautions relating to parasailing, you don't need official training to be safe and have fun parasailing. Additionally, nasty weather may delay your flight time. Otherwise, sit down, relax, and enjoy the view!

Coconut Jack's - $100 per person Go parasailing off the dock of this restaurant! After you finish your adventure, stop by and get some grub. What a perfect combo!
Sonny's Beach Service - $115 per person This is the only company who takes its guests parasailing in the Gulf of Mexico, making it totally unique on South Padre Island. For an extra fee, you can ride with one or two other people.
Parrot Eyes Parasail Platform - $80 You can ride in a set of one, two, or three. Children over 6 are welcomed. Says that it is one of the safest methods of parasailing on the island, so if you are exceptionally nervous, you might want to give this platform a try.
Jet Skiing
For those seeking a more straightforward thrill, jet skiing is another popular ocean attraction for vacationers. Renting one can be pretty expensive, but if your family and friends are into high-speed adventure, there is no better way to satisfy your taste for adrenaline.
Rent your Jet Skis at any of the following locations:
Parrot Eyes - $120-150 per hour One or two seater watercraft. Earn your boaters safety certificate (which you can do here for free). Bring valid ID.
SPI Excursions - $89-$115 per 45 minutes Fit up to two people on your jet-ski. Bring valid ID. Keep your valuables in a car so you don't lose them on your wild ride.

Windsurfing/Kiteboarding
In the market to try something new? Windsurfing and Kiteboarding are probably your best bet for a new favorite water activity. Rather than relying on boat engines or gas-powered jet-skis, you'll work with the wind for propulsion! While these two activities are somewhat different functionally, most of the rental locations offer both kinds of equipment and are similar in style.

Those wanting to give it a try, but don't want to commit to rentals may just want a fun lesson. Beginning windsurfing classes cost $75 per hour and beginning kiteboarding classes cost $95 per hour.
